Honestly, the whole time I was watching the show, I felt like it belonged on the SyFy channel. I’ve heard that you have to read the book to really understand this series, and maybe that’s why.
Unfortunately, this falls into the category of recent shows like Rings of Power (which I’d argue is actually better)
The story doesn’t seem rich or engaging (because I was distracted by everything around me and that’s what happens when I lose focus). While you can tell the production value is great, it just doesn’t feel like it belongs on MAX, especially with their other huge successes.
